The EQWIP HUBs Livelihoods & Environment Researcher will work with staff and local partner organizations to develop and strengthen the project platforms that support youth to access employment and business opportunities. You will have the chance to collaborate with the EQWIP HUBs Network to identify and develop solutions to overcome local barriers to employment and entrepreneurship.
The Livelihoods and Environment Researcher will conduct research to identify employment opportunities in the local green economy and to support development of green businesses.
KEY ACTIVITIES
- Conduct research to identify small business and other income generating opportunities in the local green economy;
- Conduct research to identify links between livelihoods and the environment;
- Conduct research to identify microfinance opportunities related to environmental sustainability;
- Prepare report and recommendations for accessing opportunities in the green economy;
- Support the development of tools, resources and mechanisms to promote and integrate environmental sustainability practices in youth business development.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree of background in environmental science, natural resource management or related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience in an environment related field.
- Experience in green business development an asset.
- Demonstrated research and reporting skills.
