For volunteers who: have a passion for youth-focused programs, mentorship and helping to build small businesses.
Eligibility:
- 21-35 years old
- Canadian Citizen / Permanent Resident
The EQWIP HUBs Business/Entrepreneurship Advisor will collaborate directly with EQWIP HUBs staff and local partner organizations to support youth with accessing employment and business opportunities and helping to build new businesses. You will have the chance to collaborate with the EQWIP HUBs Network to identify and develop solutions to overcome local barriers to employment/entrepreneurship.
Key Activities:
- Supports Training Manager and young people in business start up
- Coordination and implementation of business and financial literacy focused modules and activities
- Seeks new opportunities for funding for youth business start up
- Collaborates with Innovator to explore new business models, market-based initiatives and social enterprises
- Supports youth friendly financial product development
- Provides/coordinates coaching/mentorship for youth participants
- Provides content for social media/website/blogs focused on entrepreneurship, employment, etc.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or minimum 2 years experience in the following or related field: Finance, Business, Accounting, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, management
- Facilitation: comfortable leading participatory education experiences for young people.
- Coordination: ability to coordinate, organize and support the development of new products for young people
- Mentorship/coaching: understanding of how to effectively support young people in meeting their business/employment goals
- Working ability in Spanish
