Youth Participation Officer

The EQWIP HUBs Youth Participation Officer will work with youth and staff at the HUBs to strengthen the youth’s abilities to access employment and business opportunities. As the Youth Participation Officer, you will support youth in navigating the project and sharing their successes with a broader audience in country and in Canada.
As the Youth Participation Officer, you will report to Knowledge and Learning Manager and collaborate with closely with local youth and other volunteers in country. You build relationships with youth and provide critical support to the implementation of the EQWIP HUBs Monitoring & Evaluation strategy. You have a passion for youth, learning and program monitoring and evaluation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide ongoing support to youth to enhance their understanding of the EQWIP HUBs training and support services through the application of monitoring activities
  • Build relationships with local youth, helping them to articulate and share their growth and success
  • Assist with youth interviews, surveys and focus groups
  • Assist with aggregation of data for reporting
  • Contribute to knowledge management activities for HUB (success stories, reporting, HUB newsletter articles etc)

 

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work experience in Monitoring and Evaluation is not necessary
  • Background in social science, international development, knowledge management, M&E or related field is preferred
  • Strong writing skills are an asset
  • Experience working with youth is preferred
  • Experience with using excel, survey monkey, google forms or other software packages for data entry and analysis is preferred
  • Experience with training or facilitation is an asset
